You’ll visit the heartbreakingly beautiful Lake McKenzie or Lake Birrabeen and take a drive along the islands ‘highway’, 75 Mile Beach. The eco boardwalk through Wangoolba Creek will fill your senses with the sights, sounds and smells of paradise, while the fascinating history of Central Station Rainforest will give you an appreciation of the island. There’s just so much to do here and you’ll get the privilege of doing it all in a single day tour!
The stunning World Heritage listed Fraser Island is a sub-tropical paradise full of sweeping white beaches, sapphire blue ocean, streams and lakes, lush rainforest, wondrous sand blows and cliffs of rainbow sands! The island protects a fragile ecosystem of flora and fauna of universal significance. With towering satinay, kauri pines and brush box trees, as well as some of the largest ferns on the planet, taking a stroll through these areas is like stepping back in time to a pure, lost paradise world. The Island’s lakes range from pure, clear marvels to red-tinged tannin-stained lakes.
Of course, humans aren’t the only ones who appreciate the beauty of Fraser Island, with a variety of wildlife happily inhabiting the island. These include dingoes – the islands favourite local – wallabies, possums, snakes, hawks, kites and sea eagles, dolphins, freshwater and green sea turtles, stingrays, manta rays and whales, among others – all of which you’ll have a chance of spotting.
With protection over these natural wonders, the island is also coveted as being the largest coastal dune system and sand island in the world, and you have a chance to see it for yourself!
