Tour Description

THIS IS THE ITINERARY STARTING 01 APRIL 2011 - IF YOU WOULD DETAILS ON PRE APRIL TRAVEL PLEASE ENQUIRE BEFORE MAKING YOUR BOOKING.

Day 1 - Sydney to Surf Camp
Today we head to our secluded surf camp, located beachside north of Port Macquarie. This afternoon hit the beach for your included surf lesson. The Mojo Professional Surf Instructors are on a mission to get you standing on a board by the end of your lesson! You will start with a theory lesson on surfing and then it’s straight out to the beach. We relax on the beach and in the evening hang out and have dinner at the Mojo Beach House. (D)

Day 2 & 3 - Surf Camp to Byron Bay
After a delicious breakfast and maybe an early swim, we head north through the coastal towns of Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga to Byron Bay, Australia’s most easterly point. On arrival we check out the Byron Bay lighthouse for amazing views of the East Coast and inland national parks. After checking in to our accommodation you are free to enjoy one of Australia’s finest beaches for the next two days! Maybe grab another surf lesson, try tandem hang gliding, scuba dive or just hang out at the beach or in the coffee shops. (B)

Day 4 - Byron Bay to Rainbow Beach
After breakfast we head north to Rainbow Beach via Surfers Paradise. Further north there is the option to visit Australia Zoo or take a short break at the spectacular lookout at Wild Horse Mountain. Enjoy panoramic views of the Sunshine Coast overlooking Noosa and Mooloolaba before arriving at Rainbow Beach; a vibrant young coastal town, with glistening coloured sands and a relaxed atmosphere. This evening relax in our accommodation, located just 100 metres from the beach. (BD)

Days 5 & 6 - 2 Day Fraser Island 4WD Tag-A-Long Tour
We spend the next two days exploring Fraser Island on a locally guided 4WD Tag-A-Long safari, staying overnight at Eurong Resort. During this time you will drive along Seventy-Five Mile Beach, explore Lake Wabby, Lake Mackenzie, Eli Creek and Indian Head, be sure to take a photograph of the Maheno Wreck. We return to Rainbow Beach in the late afternoon (Day 6) where we stay overnight. (Day 5: BLD, Day 6: BL)

Day 7 - Rainbow Beach to Kroombit Cattle Station
Start the day with a wild dolphin cruise. Then we head inland through cattle country to Kroombit Cattle Station. Here we experience genuine outback living with the chance to ride a mechanical bull and take a walk around the property. Tonight you will taste a traditional camp oven dinner, cooked in the open fire and learn the art of cracking a whip! (BD)

Day 8 - Kroombit Cattle Station
Today is jam-packed with wonderful activities also included in the price of your tour. Learn first-hand about Queensland farming life as you participate in a ‘goat muster’ on horseback, try your skill at trapshooting and be part of a mini-rodeo as animals are herded into the ring. This evening enjoy another hearty camp-oven dinner and re-live your day’s experiences around the campfire with a beer from the bush bar. (BLD)

Day 9 - Kroombit to Airlie Beach/ Whitsunday Sailing
We start early today with a hearty breakfast before our big drive from Kroombit back to the coast! At Airlie Beach we board our private chartered yacht for two magical days and nights sailing the finest waters in the world – the Whitsunday Islands. (BD)

Day 10 - Whitsunday Sailing
You will have the opportunity to sun-bathe, snorkel and swim whilst exploring the idyllic Whitsunday Islands on a million dollar yacht. Visit the many beaches, coves and islands on this two night sailing trip, with the opportunity to hoist the sails and even take the wheel. Note that you will sleep on the boat, moored in quiet coves. Cabins are multi-share only; no twin and doubles for these two nights. (BLD)

Days 11 & 12 - Whitsunday Sailing to Mission Beach
Back on land, we leave Airlie Beach and head to tropical Mission Beach. Known as the adrenaline capital of the north, Mission Beach offers many optional activities. Why not take a full day whitewater rafting trip down the mighty Tully River. Those with a strong sense of adventure can try tandem skydiving, landing on the beach or catch the water taxi out to Dunk Island for some stunning rainforest hiking. You could go on a fishing charter (activities at own expense), relax on the 14 km of pristine beach or go for a rainforest hike in search of the
elusive Cassowary. (Day 11: BD, Day 12: B)

Day 13 - Mission Beach to Cape Tribulation
Heading further north we will stop at Babinda Boulders for a refreshing swim before passing through Cairns towards the World Heritage Daintree Rainforest area. We catch the ferry over the Daintree River to our hideaway accommodation in the rainforest. There are lots of laid back options to select from including a rainforest spotlighting walk, a stroll down to the beach or a swim in the pool to cool off. (B)

Day 14 - Cape Tribulation to Cairns
You may wish to start the day with a three hour sunrise kayaking cruise (own expense) before we start winding our way back down along the coastline. There’s the opportunity for a final photo of a deserted beach, complete with overhanging palm trees before we reach our final destination of Cairns. (B)
